This nursery and greenhouse -a branch of the CTPF Biobío located in the city of Concepción- is a research centre focused on the production and establishment of plants for conservation, restoration and management purposes. Protocols for the nursery of native plants of the temperate forests of the southern region of Chile (Los Lagos, Aysén and Magallanes Regions) will be generated here, so as to develop lines of research in Ecosystem Restoration, Forest Management and Climate Change. The nursery and greenhouse will hold a projected capacity of 100,000 plants in its facilities, which will directly benefit the research and community involvement activities of the BEP, and the requirements of the Castro commune.
